Moikka!

I’m Erika—a passionate and experienced Finnish teacher born and raised in Eastern Finland, the land of a thousand lakes! Growing up in a small town, I was surrounded by Finland’s beautiful landscapes, rich culture, and, of course, unique language, which I’m thrilled to share with you!

Since early 2021, I have focused on working in the educational field, teaching children, young adults and adults. Every learner has their has their own path and learning style. Therefore I always tailor my lessons to fit my student’s needs. Whether it is learning grammar, vocabulary, or getting more familiar with the Finnish culture and habits, I got you! My main goal is to create a lesson where you feel comfortable and motivated to learn and explore the language.

Finnika was born out of my passion and enthusiasm towards languages, cultures and teaching. It has been incredible to meet people from diverse backgrounds and help them on their Finnish learning journey. Seeing people discover the Finnish language and progress, has been rewarding.

I now live in Vienna, Austria, where besides teaching Finnish I enjoy reading, baking cinnamon rolls, and drinking coffee from my ever-growing collection of Moomin mugs.
